After the U.S. Women's Soccer team pulled out their victory over France, I drove down the hill to Habberton Rd. and parked. At that time of day, I would usually ride down but with a 50% chance of rain in the forecast, I didn't want to be in the situation where I was riding on Hwy 45 in the rain.
Three-quarters of the sky was showing patches of blue, but to the north there were some heavy and dark clouds. Maybe it would hold off for a bit.
Less than a mile down the road when I stopped to take the picture above, the clouds already had moved in closer and I was getting a few hard sprinkles.
Looking south. Heavy, dark clouds behind to the north.
Less than five minutes later, just after I took the above photo, it rained in earnest, coming down very steady. I began to have a very odd sensation: I was actually feeling chilled. It rained steadily for about 15 minutes and I was able to continue to enjoy a middle of the day summer ride with the temperature staying around 75.
I needed a short ride today, a day of rest as it were. I couldn't believe how much I yawned during the ride.
Today's Ride: 1hr 17mins. 15.21 miles. 70-76 degrees. Miles YTD: 4,456.98
